Cortney Wanna-be

I recently picked up a second job at Banana Republic, which I love so far. Granted I've only done the training and worked one night, but still. ;) I told them that I was available on weeknights and Saturdays. I figured before I plunged into my new schedule, I'd take one last fun trip of the summer to Burley to visit my friend Cortney (aka "Cort Cort"). I love this girl! We lived together for a couple years and have remained great friends ever since. She lives in Burley with her husband Brandon and they have this awesome life together...almost surreal it seems so perfect. She is so happy and I love that. I went up on Friday afternoon and left Saturday night. Quick trip, but we packed it in. We had such a good time.
We planned to go horseback riding on Saturday morning, so we took their Rhino (4 wheeler with rollbars and bucket seats with a small bed...hard to explain) over to their indoor arena where they keep the horse trailer. We packed the little Rhino with the saddles, harnesses, etc. and were ready to head back when I thought to ask what this big brown house was. She told me it was a whore house/bar once upon a time. According to Brandon, the house was built around the early 1900's. Seriously...we are talkin perfect haunted house of all time. I was super curious, so Cort and I climbed in through a shattered window that looks into one of the front rooms and started the tour. I've included some pics. Cort and I were having a lot of fun with this photo shoot. So much fun that Cort decided to dress me up as a full on cowgirl, with her chaps and all. Not gonna lie, I'm a total nerd, but it was so fun. There is an awesome bar at the back of the house, cool window paneling going up the stairs to the bedroom, where there is still a big thick wooden bed. This place was a trip. Cort and Brandon want to refinish it and use it as a hotel/guest house for their friends and family that come to visit. The property is in great shape and still has a room full of furniture covered in tarps. So cool. The house had been transported onto this property before Brandon ever purchased it...and I guess it just was part of the package when he did buy. Crazy, huh.
So, after the whore house we rode down to the fairgrounds on a couple of their horses to ride around the race track. Cort let me ride Putt-he's my favorite!!! We got on the track and warmed them up for a while, and then opened them up. (Is that how you'd say it, Cort?) I felt like I was on Seabiscuit. Seriously. It's so exhilarating to be riding at almost top speed around the race track.
After our horse race, we headed over to the Snake River for some wakeboarding. You'd never think a river would be the first place you'd think of to go waterskiing/wakeboarding, but I have never been on more perfect water in my life. It's incredible. Enjoy the scenery.....

Hey there pretty lady, you do look like a true cowgirl if I do say so myself. Nice pics - & impressive wakeboard skills. I love that you have ties to Burley again...it's full of a lot of old memories for me (none of which ever included an old whore house - thankfully). ( : Love you! Glad you had such a great time w/ Cort Cort.
