Costa Rica-First stop...Manuel Antonio

Manuel Antonio-May 24-25th. After an interesting night in San Jose, we took a cab to Manuel Antonio. The cab driver that took us there is the one I gave a Book of Mormon to. It was a great experience. The roads there, however, were not a great experience. This is a picture of one of the bridges we crossed. The picture doesn't do it justice, but trust me-it was bad. It's a one way bridge that apparently breaks all the time. That's comforting...maybe that's the kind of info you keep to yourself as a cab driver. ? Anyway, it was pouring rain that day, but that didn't stop us from playing in the ocean. It was still warm and beautiful, so we got our suits on and body surfed for a while our first day. The weather got better and we spent all of our sun time shopping up and down the street behind the beach, soaking in the rays, and boogie boarding with our surfing buddy Delbert-he was hilarious. The Iguana is my shopping buddy. He was just hanging out right by all the vendors along the beach. Pretty cool. Jewelry and wooden carved anything are big sellers over there. Super touristy area, but I totally loved it. The above picture is the Manuel Antonio National Reserve...this is the beach we hung out on at our first stop. Gorgeous! I stood on our balcony to take a picture of the vendors on the street. We had a great view of the beach from our one night in a semi-nice hotel....we were in hostels from here on out.
