Fanny Packs and Chums...

Two essentials for anyone thinking of going to Lagoon. I should know...I just went on Friday, but I think I got rid of any fanny packs and chums I may have owned in the late 80's. How unfortunate. We ventured our first ride on Wicked, the new rollercoaster, and might I just say Wow-SO fun! You feel pretty secure in that ride...they don't just have a bar- they have this "thing" that comes down on top of you and even holds your shins in place. I recognized the value of the fanny pack on this ride...only because the position of my cell phone in my pocket was right under the "thing" that holds you so tightly in place. I've got a bruise on my thigh from it. I believe this could have been avoided with a fanny pack. And about the chums....my friend, Melinda, let me borrow some sunglasses she didn't care about for the day. She took hers off before we took off on Wicked and held onto the closed arms of the sunglasses and the handle of the bar thing so that she wouldn't lose them. I followed suit. At the end of the ride I looked at the glasses under my white knuckled grip and noticed that one of the screws on one side of the lens had come out completely, so the lens just kind of swung down on the one screw. We were laughing so hard...cause you bet I still wore 'em. It was funny for about 5 min. After the Colossus the other screw had come out and I was left with just one pirate lens for my bad eye. ;) Now those sunglasses are in company with the sno-cone cups and puke in a trash can at the end of the ride. Sorry 'bout that, Melinda.

On Saturday I ended up going to my 10 year reunion. First and last reunion I attend, I'm sorry to say. Best part of the night was hanging out with my girlfriends...that I see all the time anyway-and of course their husbands-they're all great. Why did I go again? It was fine, but I've never paid so much for a table of appetizers- ever, ever, ever. No dinner...just appetizers. Oh well. I have the cutest friends and to spend an evening with all of them was worth it. I think I'll throw my own high school reunions from here on out.

Love your stories, Sarah! You always make me laugh! We had our 10 year in June and it was fun, but weird. People were different, but still so much was the same as it was in high school.
